WHO I AM

I’m Eef Vicca. A somehow unusual family name and a rather Dutch first name but I’m 100% Belgian, born and raised in a small town village called Aarschot after which I moved to Antwerp (Belgium), truly one of the greatest cities in the word. I was lucky to live the Mediterranean dream on the breathtaking beautiful island of Mallorca(Spain) and today NYC has become my newest destination. Travelling and fashion are part of my life.

I honestly don’t like the word “fashion” that much because I think it is imminently related to the length of your skirt or the coulour that’s hot for the season. It’s not about being in or being out; it’s about being individual and finding looks that work for oneself.

My wardrobe doesn’t feature that many designer logos and is certainly not about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic. It used to span three different rooms, now it’s packed and cropped down to the size of my tiny NYC apartment, featuring a mixture of current-season key pieces, mostly high street fashion and here and there a designer brand mixed with vintage finds.

Being tired of the stereotype that bloggers are more concerned with getting free stuff than credibility, I was determined to provide a credible, honest, and engaging blog about my own life, the Dolce Vicca, posting real fashion and random lifestyle stories that could create an authentic desire and might inspire you.

Dolce Vicca represents all things joie de vivre seen through the eyes of a fashion and lifestyle professional. It is a peek into my life around the globe having lived in Europe and more recently New York, plus travelling everywhere in between.

I hope you enjoy it!

Have a Dolce Vicca day

Eef Vicca

WANNA GO MORE INTO DETAIL?
After tree cum laude college titles obtained between the age of 17 and 22, graduated as a master in translation, master in journalism and one teacher’s degree, plus a killer thesis about Belgian fashion eagerly awaiting a lifetime of dust-on-shelf gathering, I started to work as a PR professional for Benelux biggest PR agency, Unlimited PR. After five solid years of managing press relations for international brands such as Levi’s, Absolut Vodka, Converse, Technogym, Timberland … I moved on, literally and metaphorically, by switching places and jobs, working as the head of product knowledge and communication for footwear brand Camper in Mallorca. Three years later, and moving on from my late twenties into my early thirties, I’ve hit base in New York where I’m currently the PR director for the United States, Canada and Brazil.

Working and training in fashion, has provided me first hand knowledge of the fashion industry: the looks, the trends, the runway buzz, and how to put an outfit together.
